Teen Banned From Carowinds For One Year
One of the most important lessons a kid can learn is that there are consequences for our actions. That’s exactly what one 13-year-old boy learned at Carowinds in Charlotte on Sunday (4/16).
According to the Associated Press, the teen decided he wanted to win a prize from a claw machine at Carowinds. The machine, called the Cosmic XL Bonus Game, is over six feet tall and contains with plush toys. However, rather than actually play the game, the boy tried a different approach.
A Carowinds spokesperson said they were told the 13-year-old climbed inside, then couldn’t get out, and had to be rescued. Fortunately, he was only stuck inside for 17 minutes. With help from the park’s medical response team, the boy was able to get out of the machine just before 2:15 p.m. https://t.co/Gci3G2yvRM
Once he was let out, the boy received first aid and was released to his guardians. No, he didn’t get the plush toy he was after, but he did immediately receive a one-year ban from the amusement park for attempted theft.
It’s a shame that the boy won’t be able to enjoy the rides at Carowinds with his family and friends this summer. On the bright side, now he’ll have more time to think about the consequences for his actions.
