Whether you choose to celebrate Cinco de Mayo or not it's tomorrow, tomorrow, only a day away. It's quickly becoming one of the most popular holidays in America, with many people using it as a chance to party or fiesta. And what do parties usually have? Alcohol of course. If you're going to be drinking all day, especially out in the heat, beer is a great choice for a drink. So which cold refreshing beers are North Carolinians going to be reaching for this Cinco de Mayo? Our friends over at BetCarolina were nice enough to send us their research on the top-selling Mexican beers in the NC market. Here's what they found including the rank and the percentage of online chatter about each brand:

Of course, the top spot goes to Corona. Did you really think it would be anything else? When I drink beer nine times out of ten it's a Corona or Corona Light. It's light, refreshing, and easy to drink. What's not to love? Plus those Snoop Dog commercials and the beaches in their advertising. It was enough to convince me to try it as a newly twenty-one-year-old. So I'd say that's successful marketing.

According to BetCarolina, Modelo is America's leading import beer with $3.9 billion in sales in one year. That's a crazy number to think about. Are you team Corona or team Modelo? Perhaps one of the others on this list. Whatever your beer of choice is I hope you enjoy a cold one for Cinco de Mayo. Cheers!
