Charlotte Animal Shelter Needs Fosters And You Can Help
I love animals, especially dogs! Kramer and Eddy are all I can handle in my tiny apartment, although if I was living in a house, I’d have more pups! If you have some room and love animals, CMPD Animal Care & Control needs your help asap.
According to Axios Charlotte and my friend Gina who works for AC&C, they’re undergoing renovations to bring the building on Byrum Drive into compliance. This means they are running out of space. They are losing approximately 50 kennels for an undetermined amount of time. This means many animals may not make it.
There are many dogs that are on the urgent list, and they have many long timers that might not make it out. Summer is the shelter’s busiest time of year. With space already scarce, they’re going to have a really difficult time taking care of all the animals that need them in the next few months.
My friend Gina, who now works for AC&C, is one of the most amazing people I know! She has two dogs and recently fostered a pup from AC&C. Gina is like me and after fostering her newest pup, she decided to adopt him. And he is adorable!
If you, your friends, family, or even co-workers can foster any animals, you can help many of these sweet creatures stay alive. Ideally, only the animals with medical or behavioral issues would be kept in the shelter. If you are taking a vacation this summer, AC&C will make arrangements to take care of the foster while you’re away. Fostering for a long weekend or just a few weeks can help greatly.
Please consider helping if you can. And please help spread the word as much as possible. Thank you, thank you!!! If you’re interested in fostering an animal, adopting one, or volunteering, you can find out more here.Â
