States Where You Are More Likely To Win The $1 Billion Powerball Jackpot
With no grand prize winner in Monday’s (7/17) drawing, the Powerball jackpot has reached $1 billion for only the third time in the game’s history. It’s currently the seventh largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. This jackpot has been growing since April 19th, when one lucky person in Ohio scored a $252.6 million grand prize.
Monday’s numbers were 5, 8, 9, 17, 41, for the five white balls, and 21 for the red Powerball. According to UPI, seven tickets matched the first five balls to win the second prize. Five of those second-prize tickets, purchased in New York, Connecticut, Florida, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania, won $1 million. Three of the second-prize tickets, purchased in Arkansas, Georgia, and Texas, won $2 million prizes because those folks purchased the Power Play option for an additional $1.
