The Charlotte Symphony Already Has Big Plans For The 2023 Holiday Season
We’re not the only ones who start to get that holiday feeling in the middle of summer. The Charlotte Symphony has big plans for the upcoming Christmas season. They’ve announced a full slate of festive shows and tickets are already on sale.

From an oversized elf to jaw-dropping acrobatics, the Charlotte Symphony is bringing a wide variety of Yuletide entertainment to Ovens Auditorium and Knight Theater this year. Elf in Concert – November 24-25 at Ovens Auditorium
What would the holiday season be without seeing Will Ferrell in tights as Buddy the Elf? Watch the full-length 2003 Christmas comedy on the big screen as the Charlotte Symphony performs John Debney’s score live. Both performances on November 24th and 25th begin at 7:30 pm.
Handel’s Messiah – December 1-3 at Knight Theater
The Charlotte Symphony and Charlotte Master Chorale join together for this stirring annual tradition. It’s impossible to not be moved by the “Hallelujah Chorus.” The performances on December 1st and 2nd are at 7:30 pm. The December 3rd performance is at 3:00 pm.
A Very Thorgy Christmas – December 10 at Knight Theater
“The Queen of Classical Music” returns to the Queen City for some sassy and saucy holiday fun. Heads up: Thorgy Thor’s material might be a bit much for younger audiences. One show only at 2:00 pm on December 10th.
Holiday Pops! – December 15-17 at Knight Theater
Nobody plays the classic songs of Christmas like the Charlotte Symphony. Bring family and friends to sing along and enjoy the snowfall inside Knight Theater. Evening performances on December 15th, 16th, and 17th begin at 7:30 pm. There are also matinees at 11:00 am on December 16th and 3:00 pm on December 17th.
Cirque de Noël – December 20-23 at Knight Theater
Festive and flexible! See aerial acrobatics set to the sounds of the season. All performances on December 20th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd begin at 7:30 pm.
