LEGO’s are a lot different now than when I was a kid. It’s truly amazing what some folks can do with these small, colorful plastic bricks! Next weekend, you can see for yourself how cool LEGO’s truly are at the ‘Brick Fest Live’ event August 19-20 at the Park Expo & Conference Center.
According to brickfestlive.com, you’ll be able to see wild life-size models made from 1000’s of LEGO’s, enjoy hands-on activities, and meet contestants from the LEGO Masters TV show. In addition, you’ll be able to check out the Minecraft Zone, the Glow Zone, and jump into the giant Brick Pit made up of over 200,000 different bricks.
Kids will love this event, but so will adults. There’s going to be Derby Races, with cars folks have built from LEGO’s racing down 35-foot tracks. There will also be a Graffiti Wall, where you can add your own name or a special brick symbol, a Mosaic Gallery, and a huge Floor Mural that you can add on to.
Over a million bricks will be on display for all to see and play with. The Brick Fest Live is touring around the country, and we’re lucky Charlotte is one of the stops. You can buy tickets now here, and they range from $16.99-$37.99. Children 2-years-old and under can get in free.
Although it’s been years and years since I made anything out of LEGO’s, but I’ve seen how they’ve grown over the years and the things people can construct with them are wild! The life-size figures are insane to me! I cannot imagine the patience it takes to build figures and objects that large with little bricks.
This is definitely a fun filled day for the family! It doesn’t say on the website, but I’m sure folks will be selling concessions at the event. You can grab all the details here. If you go, take pictures! I wanna see all the cool stuff!
26 Indoor Activities To Have Fun While Staying Cool This Summer In Charlotte North Carolina
There is no way around it, it is HOT in the Carolinas this summer. It was in the mid-90s all last week and will be there the rest of this week as well. There are only so many things you can do inside to entertain yourself or your kids and let’s face it it’s just too miserable to be outside. At this temperature, I can’t even lay out at the pool, it’s get in the water of bust. And forget that afternoon rail trail walk or outdoor dining. So if you’re like me and don’t want to sit at home, but instead want to beat the heat this is the list for you. I’ve scoured the internet for 26 indoor activities for you to have fun while staying cool this summer in Charlotte.
All of these activities have one main thing in common. And that one thing is air conditioning. Because when it’s 95 degrees outside nothing else will cut it! Indoors is also helpful when that oh-so-common summer storm pops up. So no getting wet (unless by choice) here.
On this list you’ll find a variety of activities some for kids and adults alike, others geared more towards just adults. Tap into your creative side, your adventurous side, or just relax and enjoy. Many offer the chance to have a cold drink but aren’t drinking-focused. Instead, you’ll find indoor activities in Charlotte that are sure to entertain and break up the monotony that the summer heat can often bring. Hopefully, this list will be helpful and you’ll find something new to try or remember an old favorite you’d forgotten about. Try one of these activities. Let us know! Stay cool out there this summer, Charlotte (it will be winter and we will be begging for warmer days before we know it).
