‘Morehead’s Haunted Tavern’ Is Serving Up Spooky Cocktails And Halloween Fun
If you’re tired of the same old, same old for Halloween, to the point that you’re even thinking about skipping the festivities this year, hold on a minute. There’s a local bar on the edge of uptown Charlotte hosting something “other-worldly” in October that you might not want to miss: Morehead’s Haunted Tavern.
Beginning Thursday, October 5th, The Tavern at 300 E. Morehead Street will become a spine-tingling pop-up bar and haunted house attraction. Morehead’s Haunted Tavern will offer multiple scare zones, spooky cocktails, appetizers, and live DJs every Thursday through Saturday in October. The social media photo-ops alone might be worth the price of admission.
Ghosts and goblins will be roaming around the bar, but you can also enter a separate haunted house area, complete with skeletons, gravestones, bats, ravens, shaking coffins, animated zombie children, and even a ghoulish grandmother. You must be 21 and over to enter the bar. However, kids under 17 are welcome to visit the haunted house exhibit with an accompanying parent or adult guardian.
Not only does Morehead’s Haunted Tavern sound like a lot of fun, it’s also helping out a great cause. Proceeds from the Halloween attraction will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas, a non-profit organization that creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships. Guests are asked to bring new or lightly used toys, board games, or arts and crafts items for donations.
Morehead’s Haunted Tavern will be open every Thursday through Saturday in October as well as on Halloween night (Tuesday, 10/31). The bar opens at 6:00 p.m. and the haunted house will begin at 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices start at $20 and group discount options are available.
