Kid-Friendly New Year’s Eve Celebrations
Northlake Mall is throwing its annual Noon Year’s Eve party on Thursday, December 28th. The kid-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration features singing, dancing, face-painting, balloon twisting, snacks, crafts, and a balloon drop at noon. Sign up for your spot here.
The Union County Public Library will host two Noon Year’s Eve parties. The first one is on Friday, December 29th at the Main Library, 316 East Windsor Street in Monroe. The celebration goes from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and includes K through 5 crafts and a countdown to 2024. The Union West Regional Library at 123 Unionville Indian Trail Road will host its Noon Year’s Eve party on Saturday, December 30th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Discovery Place Kids in Huntersville and Rockingham are holding their Noon Year’s Eve celebrations on Sunday, December 31st from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Each family will receive a winter-themed book, bookmark, and a noisemaker. Sea Life Aquarium Charlotte-Concord at Concord Mills has a Noon Year’s Eve Shellabration (Get it?) on Sunday, December 31st from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The party will feature crafts, sparkling juice, live mermaids, and a balloon drop at noon. More details here.
Instead of dropping a ball midnight, the City of Lincolnton uses an apple for their family-friendly New Year’s Eve countdown. Lincolnton’s Apple Drop New Year’s Eve Street Party starts at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 31st at the court house with music, games, and food trucks. The blessing of the city with the Cherryville Traditional New Year Shooters will be at 6:30 p.m. The kids’ countdown happens at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free but you’re encouraged to bring food donations for the pantries at Christian Ministries and Lincoln County Animal Services.
What kid wouldn’t want to ring in the new year at Carowinds? The family-friendly fun of New Year’s Eve at WinterFest begin at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 31st. The amusement park will hold multiple early-evening countdowns for children, as well as the real thing at midnight with fireworks. Tickets start at $32.99.
If your kids can stay awake until midnight, then bring them with you to CLT NYE in Uptown on Sunday, December 31st. The free, family-friendly celebration offers a DJ, live music, the lighting of the Queen City crown, and massive fireworks at midnight. The event starts at 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of Tryon Street and Levine Avenue of the Arts.
