Monroe, North Carolina Man Wins Second Lottery Jackpot In Three Years
Alexandro Acevedo is one lucky guy, especially with scratch-offs. The Monroe, North Carolina resident won a big lottery prize almost three years ago and did it again last week. He must have the magic touch. Or maybe he has a lucky scratching coin that he uses.
According to the North Carolina Education Lottery, Mr. Acevedo bought a $30 Black Titanium ticket from the Food Lion supermarket on North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Monroe on Wednesday, March 6th. It hit for $100,000. Back in September of 2021, the Union County man won a $200,000 scratch-off prize on a Bigger $pin ticket.
“After I won, I told my mother-in-law, ‘Guess what? I did it again,’” Acevedo laughed. He arrived at North Carolina Education Lottery headquarters last Thursday to collect his prize and took home $71,509 after state and federal taxes.
For the record, the Black Titanium scratch-off game debuted last summer with six $4 million top prizes and 16 $100,000 prizes. There are still four $4 million prizes and seven $100,000 prizes out there. Just saying…
So what is Alexandro Acevedo going to do with all of that money? After winning in 2021, he took his daughters on a trip to Disney World in Florida. Acevedo said after this win, he might take another family vacation. “That last trip was fun,” he said. “Maybe we’ll do it again.” Have you ever dreamed about what you might do with the money from a big lottery jackpot?
