The Price Is Right Live Coming To Charlotte
Come on down! You could be a contestant on The Price is Right Live when it comes to Charlotte. One of America’s most iconic game shows is hitting town in the fall. According to the Independent Tribune, the live version of the popular game show will be at Ovens Auditorium on October 17.
The interactive stage show will feature many of the show’s signature games like Plinko, Cliffhangers, The Big Wheel, and the big winning Showcase. You’ll be able to be a part of all the excitement and have a chance to take home fabulous prizes!
The Price is Right Live will be hosted by a yet-to-be-named celebrity, and tickets for the show will go on sale this Friday, April 19, at 10 A.M. via Ticketmaster.com.

The Price Is Right Is Pure Nostalgia
If you’re a Gen X’er, then there’s a huge chance that you watched the show while home sick from school. For us the show is nostalgic! Many of us as kids would be on the sofa while sick, covered in a blanket, eating a bowl of Campbell’s Soup and saltine crackers, while watching Bob Barker host The Price is Right.
When I was in the 5th grade, I caught bronchitis which eventually turned into pneumonia. I was home from school for a month! I spent lots of time on our sofa in the den, wearing pajamas, wrapped up in a blanket, watching the show. Just hearing the show’s theme music makes me want to take a nap! Often, I’d watch the show and drift off to sleep listening to folks on television playing the show’s games and trying to win prizes. I miss those simple days!
Longest Running Game Show In Television History
The popular show is the longest-running game show in the U.S. and is one of the longest running network series in TV history. Bob Barker was the host from 1972-2007 and retired after hosting for 35 seasons. Comedian Drew Carey took over the hosting duties in 2007 and is still hosting the show.
Millions of dollars in prizes have been given away on the show, with thousands of people from all over winning tons of stuff. The show has given away cars, trips, appliances, electronics and more.
