Charlotte Baking Co., Brewery Hosting Pie Eating Contest
If you’re someone that can kick back some food, this local pie eating contest is for you! Thoughtful Baking Co. and Birdsong Brewing are holding a pie eating contest in May.

The two Charlotte businesses will have their first annual ‘Pie Eating Contest’ at Birdsong Brewing on May 9, from 6-8 P.M. The entry fee is only $5, and the winner will take home a prize valued at $150. That’s a deal!
In addition to kicking back some amazing pies, you’ll be able to enjoy the release of Birdsong Brewing’s seasonal brew, Pink Robots.
Although I’ve never checked out Birdsong Brewing, I have had some insanely good food from the Thoughtful Baking Co. I’ve written about them before, and I am a big fan. Their food is amazing! They use fresh, local ingredients and all their food is homemade.
I can tell you that their pot pies and desserts are some of the best I’ve ever eaten. I was able to try their food at the Charlotte Regional Farmer’s Market last year. I saw they had a booth set up and bought a veggie pot pie and a dessert. Unreal!
Pie Eating Contests Are Wild
Many years ago, when I was working on a morning show in Columbia, S.C., I participated in a pie eating contest at the South Carolina State Fair. It was fun, but crazy messy! The pie was blueberry, my favorite, and in true me form, I was covered after the contest was over.
I was not the winner of the contest, I was beaten by a local Columbia TV weatherman, but I gave it a good try! Pie eating is not as easy as I thought it would be. Total ruckus!
This local event here in Charlotte will be a blast even if you don’t want to enter the contest. Kicking back a few beers and watching others make fools of themselves is a good time! I know folks had fun laughing at me!
If you’re interested in entering, you can do that here. This will be a blast to check out with a group of friends. The pie eating contest will be at Birdsong Brewing, 1016 N Davidson St.
