Woman Wears Over 5 Pounds Of Clothing To Avoid Airline Baggage Fee
My wife and I are celebrating our twentieth wedding anniversary later this month with trip to Ireland. We honeymooned on Oahu, so we figured we should mark this matrimonial milestone on another island.
The biggest difference between the two places will be the weather. Ireland and Hawaii look and feel very different in late October. Traveling to a cooler place means packing bulkier clothing. Our challenge will be to pack what we need without incurring any airline fees for overweight bags. I’m a notorious over-packer.
Those baggage fees can take a bite out of your travel budget, but one quick-thinking traveler from the Philippines found a way to save her hard-earned cash. She put on more than five pounds of the clothes from her suitcase.
Gel Rodriguez needed to lighten the load in her bag from 20 pounds to under 15, so she pulled out 5.5 pounds of clothes and started dressing at the airport. In the photo she shared on Facebook, Gel appears to be wearing five tops, three pairs of pants, and a couple of cardigans.
Ms. Rodriguez accomplished her goal but had a warning for other travelers who might find themselves in the same position. “It was really hot,” she said.
