‘Sesame Street’ Is Hosting A Town Hall Conversation About Racism
We’re living in very challenging times. The conversations with my teenage sons have been meaningful and valuable, but I know I’m having an easier time with it than parents of younger children.
What do you say to a pre-schooler about George Floyd, the protests, and racism? Sesame Street is offering to help parents find the words.
On Saturday (6/6), CNN and Sesame Street will host a town hall special called “Coming Together: Standing Up To Racism.” CNN’s Van Jones and Erica Hill will be joined by Sesame Street characters Big Bird, Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and Rosita (top) as they answer questions submitted by families. Other speakers will also appear.
“Coming Together: Standing Up To Racism” will air Saturday, June 6th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Eastern on CNN.
As anger and heartbreak have swept across America over the killing of yet another black man at the hands of police, CNN and "Sesame Street" are refocusing their second town hall to address racism.
