An Effects Pedal That Makes Your Guitar Sound Like Farts Now Exists
In “Sometimes, heroes don’t wear capes” news: A man has Kickstarted a new effects pedal that will make your guitar sound like farts.
Steve Gadlin shared his invention, aptly named “The Fart Pedal,” via the popular crowdfunding site on September 27. As of publishing, the KickStarter has raised just over $17,000 of its $30,000 goal, which will help produce 250 Fart Pedals.
In addition to being able to toggle between “wet” and “dry” sounding farts, Gadlin notes in his campaign, “The fart noises generated by The Fart Pedal aren’t your run of the mill Spencer Gifts fart machine toots. I worked with an award-winning sound design company in Chicago to develop bespoke, custom fart noises, for which I hold the exclusive license. These fart noises have been tailored specifically for a guitar amplifier, and tuned for exceptional live or studio performance.”
So, what exactly does The Fart Pedal sound like? Below are just a few preview performances utilizing the pedal via covers of Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode,” Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” and Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”
If “The Fart Pedal” smells like a good idea and you want to help fund it, you can do so via KickStarter.com. The fundraising campaign closes on Wednesday, October 27 at 11:07 PM EDT.
