Over $630K In Cars Stolen From North Carolina Dealership
Some very bold and well-rehearsed car thieves struck a dealership in North Carolina on Friday, December 9th. According to WRAL-TV, the suspects drove off with ten expensive vehicles worth over $630,000 from John Hiester Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Lillington.
It happened in the early morning hours of December 9th and the entire caper was caught on security cameras. The owner of the dealership says it seemed to be part of an organized car theft ring since other dealerships have recently been robbed across the state, including in Raleigh, Cary, Goldsboro, Winston-Salem, and Charlotte.
The theft was highly coordinated by multiple people wearing hoodies. The suspects broke into the building, broke open the key locker, and then drove away, all within about 15 minutes. Vehicles stolen included a Corvette convertible, a Dodge Durango SRT, and multiple Dodge Challengers. The dealership believes the thieves scouted the inventory online ahead of time.
