Jamie Lynn Spears’ Resurfaced Tweet Supports Justin Timberlake
With Britney Spears’ memoir, The Woman In Me, to release Tuesday (October 24), fans have found and recirculated a tweet written and deleted by her younger sister, Jamie Lynn. Almost a decade after Britney and Justin’s messy split in 2002 after three years together, Jamie Lynn tweeted a photo of herself as a child sitting on his lap in the back of a car with Britney at his side. She wrote in 2013: “@jtimberlake Weird hearing ur music as an Adult..Ha Not only do I appreciate it. I GET it. #jay #crymeariver #mirror.”
The Zoey 101 alum ended up deleting the tweet shortly after it was posted before walking back her statement in another message (which has also since been deleted). “I hope you all know that my tweets are only to support my sister @britneyspears – anything left over was to @jtimberlake #sisterlove #4eva.” Reacting to Jamie Lynn’s posts a decade later, several fans have been left seriously frustrated by Jamie Lynn’s past public support of Justin. “remember when jamie lynn tweeted this? c—” wrote one person. “This is so evil?! [crying face emoji]” wrote another.

The resurfaced tweet comes after excerpts from the memoir have exposed some revelations about her and Justin Timberlake’s tumultuous past relationship. From having an abortion to cheating claims on both sides, Justin’s past behavior is now being reexamined by fans. Though Justin has yet to respond to the memoir’s excerpts about him, he publicly apologized to Britney in 2021, noting in an Instagram statement that he “benefited from a system that condones misogyny.”

Additionally, as fans know, Britney and her younger sister’s relationship has long been strained. This is due to Jamie Lynn’s alleged lack of support while Britney was under a conservatorship for 13 years. The pop star has long claimed that her entire family did “nothing” to help her while she struggled. Britney’s memoir, The Woman in Me, releases on Tuesday, October 24.
