Will We Have A White Christmas In Charlotte?
Snow on December 25th in Charlotte is rarer than a Santa sighting in your living room, but I still hope for both every year. What could be more perfect than waking up with a fresh blanket of snow outside on Christmas morning? The odds of that happening depend on who you ask.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is pretty pessimistic about our chances of seeing a white Christmas. According to their climatological measurements taken over the last three decades, there is only a 2 percent chance that snow will fall in Charlotte by December 25th. Nuts.
The meteorologists at AccuWeather give us a better chance of seeing snow on Christmas Day, but it’s still only 25-50 percent. However, there’s another source we can check. It’s an app called Will I Get A White Christmas. Just type in the name of your city or town, click GO, and a little snowman with a carrot nose will give you his prediction. Fingers crossed!
