Police Reminding People Not To Fire Guns Into The Air On New Year’s Eve

If you made it through elementary school, you should still remember what Sir Isaac Newton said about gravity: “What goes up must come down.” It’s one of the most basic scientific concepts we’re taught as kids. And yet, police still have to remind citizens every December 31st that firing guns into the air is dangerous.
It’s true. People really do get struck and seriously hurt by falling bullets on New Year’s Eve. Last year, a woman in Raleigh, NC and a 9-year-old boy in Cleveland, OH were injured as a result of celebratory gunfire. Stick to popping off champagne corks instead. But point them away from people’s faces!
