Chipotle Celebrating “Miracle On Ice” Anniversary With Hockey Jerseys And BOGO Food
Whether you rep the Charlotte Checkers, Carolina Hurricanes, or any other hockey team, you can get free food at Chipotle. Just put on your favorite jersey and take advantage of the restaurant chain’s Suit Up And Score promotion this Friday.
Chipotle is celebrating the 13th year of Hockey Week Across America by offering a buy one, get one deal. You’ll get a free entree or kid’s meals when you wear a hockey jersey to a participating location on February 21, 2020. This year’s promotion also coincides with the 40th anniversary of the U.S. Olympic hockey team’s “Miracle on Ice” in 1980.
On February 22, 1980, the American squad did the unthinkable at the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, NY. By defeating the heavily-favored Soviet Union, 4-3, the U.S. team pulled off one of the greatest upsets in sports history, prompting play-by-play announcer Al Michaels to ask the immortal question, “Do you believe in miracles?”
