Dallas Lavender Lane Farm Looks Delightful
Over the last two weeks I’ve seen some interesting recipes that a friend has been posting on her Facebook page. All of the recipes include lavender and I asked her where she came up with the idea for a Lavender Martini and Lavender Macaroons and she told me her inspiration came from Dallas Lavender Lane Farms.
Dallas Lavender Lane is a 38 acre farm located in Dallas, NC. There are over 5 thousand plants on approximately 6 acres, consisting of four different lavender varieties. Along with the lavender field, there is a section of the farm that’s dedicated to a variety of farm animals. You can pet and feed ducks, pot belly pigs, pygmy goats, a miniature pony and a donkey. How cool! I love the smell of lavender, it’s one of my favorite scents, but I had no clue that there are different varieties of lavender. The different kinds of lavender on the farm are used in specific products. For instance, the farm offers baking mixes that are infused with culinary lavender. Another variety of lavender grows long, beautiful stems, making it easy to cut and dry them. This makes them ideal to use for making lavender sachets and bouquet bundles.
The farm has a small country store on the property where you can buy all kinds of lavender infused products like honey, soap, and lotions. You can purchase things while at the farm or you can buy items online here.
Right now the farm is only open by appointment only but they are planning a grand opening the beginning of June. The farm is planning to host several types of events such as: festivals, group tours, art classes, and yoga classes. They are currently planning a summer and fall festival that will be open to the public.
I really wanna check this place out! Just smelling the lavender fields must be so intoxicating! I also want to check out the lavender infused products. You can get details on the Dallas Lavender Lane Farm here or check out their Facebook page here. If you’re kids love animals, this would be a fun trip for them! And I definitely need to grab some lavender and try a Lavender Martini….yummy!
