Elmo Is Hosting His Own “Not Too Late” Talk Show
Move over, Corden, Kimmel, and Colbert. The battle for talk show supremacy is heating up with a new host who’s already winning with the younger demographic. Sesame Street’s most lovable fuzzy little monster, Elmo, has scored his own family-friendly talk show on HBO Max, The Not Too Late Show with Elmo.
ABC News reports that Elmo will welcome big-name guests to his new show. Celebs dropping by to chat will include Blake Lively, Andy Cohen, Dan + Shay, Hoda Kotb, Sara Bareilles, Josh Groban, Jason Sudeikis, Lil Nas X, The Jonas Brothers, and even Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon.
Of course, no late night, or even not-so-late night talk show is complete without some sidekicks. Cookie Monster will be Elmo’s Ed McMahon, Rosita is his stage manager, Abby Cadabby has signed on as a writer, and other Muppets are working behind the scenes.
Executive producer Ben Lehmann explains that “the whole thing is meant to be playful and a fun family experience so rather than spend a lot of time talking, we spend more time playing games like Hot Potato or Tic-Tac-Toe. Throughout the 15 minutes of the episode, Elmo is talking about one specific bedtime ritual, like putting on your pajamas or reading a book or brushing your teeth.”
The Not Too Late Show with Elmo begins streaming May 27th on HBO Max. You can see a preview HERE.
