Beef Is Still King On American Grills
Did you do any grilling over the weekend? What do you prefer to put on the fire? I usually do my homemade burgers or sausages and hot dogs for me and the kids, plus some portobello mushrooms and other vegetables for my healthier-living wife. But most grill masters pick something else.
According to a new Grill Cook Bake survey of 3,900 Americans, beef is king. More specifically, 34% of respondents said steak is their favorite grilled food. And most people who chose beef like it to be grilled medium-rare, including folks in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Hamburger was second on the list at 19%. Chicken, ribs, bratwurst, hot dogs, pineapple, and pork chops rounded out the survey choices, in that order. Meat prices have gone up considerably during the pandemic, so it would be interesting to see if the results change at all later this summer.
