Brewery Seeks Person To Hike Appalachian Trail And Drink Beer
If you’ve been thinking now would be a good time to get away from society, you’re not alone. A lot of us wouldn’t mind taking a time out for a few months. Even better if we can take some beer with us. How does half a year hiking in the mountains on a brewery’s dime sound?
According to UPI, Devils Backbone Brewing Company of Lexington, VA is looking for a “Chief Hiking Officer” to spend five to seven months hiking the Appalachian Trail and drinking their excellent beer. Oh, and it comes with a salary of $20,000. Yes, please!
The company is currently accepting applications for this unique opportunity. The winner will get the “CHO” title and take on the 2,200 mile trek between May and September 2021. You’d be outfitted with equipment by the brewery, and treated to, “some big ol’ beer parties along the way.” Nice.
But it won’t be all fun and games. In exchange for the salary, transportation, gear and beer, Devils Backbone Brewing Company expects you to share the experience on social media. The application on the company’s website asks for proof of social media or blogging skills, and a video explaining why you should get the job. The best applications will be selected for interviews and an assignment to complete for the next round of eliminations. Good luck!
