Fleetwood Mac Song From 1977 Is Back On The Charts Thanks To One Man’s Social Media Post
Never underestimate the power of social media. Or cranberry juice. According to Pedestrian, a Fleetwood Mac song that was released and went #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 all the way back in 1977 is now charting on Spotify thanks to a recently posted video.
The Tik Tok video of a man skateboarding while drinking cranberry juice and lip-synching to Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” was shared to Twitter on September 25th with the caption: “I don’t use this verbiage often but this is a whole vibe. Simple as that.” It was then re-tweeted and viewed over 21 million times. It was even shared by Fleetwood Mac’s official account with the comment: “We love this!”
As a result of all of the sharing and views by people around the globe, “Dreams” became the 90th most-streamed song on Spotify worldwide. In the U.S., the Stevie Nicks-penned single went all the way to the #24 spot in just a couple of days. Not bad for a song written long before most Tik Tok users were born. Here’s the tweet that helped make it happen:
