New Driver Finally Gets Permit After Failing Test 157 Times
Is it possible to have too much perseverance? A man in the UK has reportedly managed to pass his learner’s permit test after failing to answer enough questions correctly a record-breaking number of times.
According to Oddity Central, the UK’s Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) recently reported the new record for the number of times someone failing the written portion of the test before finally passing. The man, whose name was understandably not disclosed for privacy reasons, reportedly failed it 157 times. It also cost him about $4,100 in the process.
Although this new driver is currently ranked first in the UK for the most failed attempts at passing the driving knowledge test, he has some serious competition. DVSA records shows that the second-most number of failures belongs to a woman in her 30s, who has taken the test 117 times and has yet to pass it.
I suppose congratulations are in order for the man who finally passed the test. No word on how he did on the driving portion. That being said, there’s no way I would ever get in a car with him behind the wheel. Pedestrians, beware!
