Chick-fil-A Manager Steps In To Direct Drive-Thru Coronavirus Vaccination Clinic In South Carolina
You may have seen the memes on social media about speeding up the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine: “The whole country would be vaccinated by midnight if Chick-fil-A were running the drive-thru vaccination sites.” Well, that sort of happened in South Carolina.
According to Business Insider, a drive-thru vaccination clinic in Mount Pleasant, SC was dealing with a computer glitch that left people waiting in line for more than an hour. So the town’s mayor, Will Haynie, called Jerry Walkowiak, who runs the Chick-fil-A across the street. The fast food manager stepped in to help clinic run as smoothly as his restaurant during lunch hour.
Walkowiak organized the traffic jam, made sure customers had the right paperwork, and got the line moving again. He even stood in the rain with an umbrella to do it. Mayor Will Haynie tweeted, “When you need help, call the pros.”
