Hankie Alert: Husband Surprises Wife With Lost Wedding Video
An Oregon couple who married 14 years ago thought they’d lost their wedding video forever. However, they got lucky this year when it was found by friend. And because that friend called the groom first, it made for an epic surprise for the bride.
According to In the Know, Kayla and Drew Gottfried had taken the tape of their ceremony to a video editing store to have it transferred to a DVD, but they were told the tape was blank. They thought they’d never see their wedding again. That is, until Drew got a call a few months back.
The aforementioned friend of the Gottfrieds had found another copy of the video with a bunch of old tapes at their church and gave it to Drew. The quick-thinking husband kept it a secret from Kayla because he had big plans up his sleeve. And on their 14th wedding anniversary, Drew rented out a movie theater and asked them to play the wedding video instead of a movie.
Kayla had no idea what was about to be shown on the screen as she sat in the dark theater next to her husband. She thought they were going to be watching one of their favorite movies. Drew recorded the moment of surprise as his wife finally saw the footage she had never seen before. As soon as their wedding video starts to play, Kayla breaks out in a huge smile and tears up, covering her eyes. Drew describes her reaction as “pure happiness.” See for yourself:
