Mountain Dew’s Mysterious Halloween Soda Is Back For A Third Year
It’s back for a third year in a row. According to HypeBeast, Mountain Dew’s mysterious Halloween-themed soft drink, also known as VooDew, is set to hit stores at the end of August. But what will it taste like this time?
In 2019, the first VooDew flavor was similar to candy corn. Then, in 2020, it was a fruity candy flavor. Another Halloween candy flavor is a good bet for 2021, but the only clue we have is that, this time, the packaging is predominantly blue.

People who’ve already had a chance to taste the new VooDew 3.0 have posted on Twitter that it reminds them of Airheads, cotton candy, bubble gum, Twizzlers, strawberry Starburst, fruit punch Kool-Aid, and caramel apple. I can’t decide if they’re all bad at guessing or if it’s a marketing smokescreen to keep the flavor a secret for as long as possible.
A PR rep for PepsiCo recently confirmed that 20-ounce bottles and 12-ounce cans of Mountain Dew VooDew 3.0 will begin selling on August 30th at select retailers. It will only be around for a limited time, so keep your eyes open for it.
