L.A. Dodgers Player Pulls Off Coolest Slide Ever
Even if you hate baseball, you have to appreciate this. The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-0 on Wednesday (8/10), but that almost doesn’t matter. More importantly, Dodgers second baseman Trea Turner caused jaws to drop with an incredible move in Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park.
In the sixth inning of the game, the Dodgers’ Will Smith hit a single that allowed Trea Turner to round third base and head for home. What happened next was nothing short of epic. Turner would reach out and touch the plate, avoiding the tag by Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto, and in one seamless and incredible graceful motion continue his slide until he popped up on one leg into a standing position. Safe!
Normally, you’d have to be an accomplished dancer to pull off this kind of a move. I mean, this is like peak Michael Jackson mixed with a dash of Baryshnikov. It’s easily the coolest slide of all-time. Words do not do it justice. You have to see it for yourself:
