Belgian Couple Used Variations Of Same 4 Letters To Name Their 11 Kids
As someone who has named two children, I can tell you it’s not as easy as it sounds. Sara and I went back and forth for what felt like forever when trying to decide on names for our sons. We never could agree on any girl names but the only females we’ve had to name have been three dogs.
According to OddityCentral, a couple in Belgium appears to have figured out a way to make the whole business of naming babies much simpler. Gwenny Blanckaert and Marino Vaneeno are the proud parents of eleven children – seven girls and four boys – all of whom have four-letter names. They used the same four letters, in fact, despite having 26 letters in the alphabet with which to work.
After naming their first two children Alex and Axel, the two parents decided to use just the letters A, E, L, and X to name their other kids. And because they both wanted a big family, they ended up having to use variations of those four letters to name their next nine children as well. Oh, and they plan to do the same when their twelfth child is born next April. Here are the names of their kids so far:
- Alex
- Axel
- Xela
- Lexa
- Xael
- Xeal
- Exla
- Leax
- Xale
- Elax
- Alxe
Not bad. Gwenny and Marino say that getting their kids’ names right isn’t that hard. I would think that it would be very confusing. Five of the kids are at the same school and it has been a challenge for their teachers. Since the four letters allow for 24 different first names, mom and dad still have 13 variations to choose from for baby number 12. Good luck, teachers.
