Humpback Whale Spotted Near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
This was an amazing early Christmas present. Some vacationers spotted a humpback whale repeatedly slapping the water with its tail off the coast of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on December 24, 2021. Thankfully, one of those folks was bright enough to pull out their smartphone and capture it. I would have just been in shock.
One of the lucky vacationers speculated that the whale may have been trying to stir up some fish to eat. Whatever it was doing, that majestic creature held its audience enrapt for longer than most of us can pay attention on a Zoom call. Nature for the win! You can see the video below.
