Woman Quits Fast Food After Disturbing Experiment
We’ve all heard the jokes about the shelf life of fast food. One woman isn’t laughing anymore.
Megan Condry, a 41-year-old receptionist from Washington, DC, purchased two cheeseburgers from McDonald’s back in November 2017. According to Mirror, Megan ate one and left the other one in her car. After finding it a few days later, she noticed that it looked the same as when she purchased it. That’s when Megan decided to conduct a little experiment.
Megan put that leftover cheeseburger in the back of a closet and didn’t touch it for more than four years. While going through holiday decorations, Megan found the bag, opened it, and couldn’t believe her eyes. Other than being dried out and rock hard, the burger looked the same as it did on the day she bought it in 2017.
On their website, McDonald’s claims that their classic cheeseburger “begins with a 100% pure beef burger seasoned with just a pinch of salt and pepper,” and that it “contains no artificial flavors, preservatives or added colors from artificial sources.” Then why didn’t Megan’s burger show any signs of mold or rot? It didn’t even shrink.
After seeing the results of her experiment, Megan has vowed never to eat McDonald’s again and has even ditched fast food altogether in a bid to lose weight. I don’t blame her. If only it didn’t taste so darn good.
