Prison Guards Apprehend Pigeon Wearing Backpack Full Of Crystal Meth
By now, most of us have heard the tale of the bear in Georgia that ingested a duffel bag full of cocaine back in the ’80s. The movie about it doesn’t come out until February but Hollywood may want to start cooking up the sequel now. Move over, Cocaine Bear. Here comes Meth Pigeon!
According to the New York Post, guards at a prison in Canada detained a pigeon that was carrying a backpack filled with crystal meth. The pigeon was apprehended in December with a trap on a wall at the Pacific Institution correctional facility near Vancouver, British Columbia.
One official said that people attempting to smuggle drugs into prisons with drones isn’t unusual, but the backpack-wearing pigeon tactic was new to him. The meth pigeon investigation is ongoing, and there’s no word if the bird was allowed one phone “coo.” How do you even read a pigeon its rights?
