Art Museum Hosting Naked Scavenger Hunt
How are you celebrating Valentine’s Day this year? The same old routine of flowers, chocolates, and an overpriced dinner? How about trying something new, like a weekend getaway to the City of Brotherly Love for a naked scavenger hunt?
What is it about Philadelphia and nudity? It’s already home to the annual Philly Naked Bike Ride. Now the city’s obsession with private parts continues with “The Naked at the Art Museum Scavenger Hunt” on Saturday, February 11th.
This exhibitionist event involves the exhibitions at the renowned Philadelphia Museum of Art, but it won’t be you that’s naked. It’s the statues that will be in the nude. Phew!
Watson Adventures runs the “The Naked at the Art Museum Scavenger Hunt,” which focuses on nudity in art. According to the Watson Adventures website, participants will find “Saints with shocking piercings, a sultry sea monster, exotic gods with many arms to keep an eye on, and a Peeping Tom who discovers a new meaning for the term ‘stag party’.” Oh my!
If you think this scavenger hunt will just be a bunch of pointing and giggling, think again. The instructions for the two-hour event say each team should have at least two fully-charged smartphones and good shoes for walking. It sounds competitive. However, “no knowledge of art, or nudity, is required,” according to Watson Adventures.
By the way, the Philadelphia Museum of Art is where Sylvester Stallone ran up those steps in Rocky. There’s even a Rocky Balboa statue in front of the museum. No, it’s not naked.
