Will Smith Pokes Fun At Himself And His Oscar Mistake On TikTok
Have you forgiven Will Smith for “the slap?” It has been almost a year since Will took his very public shot at Chris Rock during the Oscars, and Smith has been uncharacteristically but understandably quiet since then. However, Will has slowly returned to the social media spotlight.
Will Smith has gone viral once again for something Oscars-related, but this time he’s poking fun at himself. The actor posted a video of himself watching a video from TikTok user @missmoneyworking in which she invites followers to ask an inanimate object around them what they think about them. It could be a pen, your car, or even money. She said, “the answer would come to you from your intuition.” It’s supposed to be a “life-changing” exercise.
In the video, you can see Will taking in what the TikTok’er is saying and looking around for an object. That’s when he picks up his Oscar and the video ends. I don’t care who you are, that’s funny! See for yourself below. (WARNING: The TikTok’er uses an R-rated word at the beginning.)

On a related note, one of the lessons learned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences last year is to always be prepared for events that aren’t necessarily planned. Thanks to Will Smith going off script, the Oscars will have a new safeguard in place this year.
The Academy’s CEO Bill Kramer told Time that a rapid response “crisis team” will be on set during the March 12th award ceremony. Kramer also explained why Jimmy Kimmel was chosen as host. Kimmel is a “safe choice” because he “knows how to handle television and a live audience.”
