It's almost time to throw out the first pitch and play ball! Single game tickets for the Charlotte Knights 2023 season are now on sale. Opening Day is Friday, March 31st. The team has also released its schedule of upcoming promotions.

The Knights always do a great job with their promotional events. This season's schedule includes plenty of their ever-popular "Bark in the Ballpark" games when you can bring your dog to Truist Field. Those will be on 4/2, 5/17, 7/6, 9/6, and 9/13.

There's also a long list of special theme nights such as Singles Night (4/13), Women in Sports Night (4/25), Dino Day (5/12), Racing Night (5/3), Star Wars Night (6/2), Video Game Night (6/24), '80s Night (7/6), Princess Day (7/9), '90s Night (7/20), Faith & Family Night (7/25), Wizard Night (8/11), Marvel Night (8/12), Pirate Night (8/13), and '60s Night (9/7).

Then there are the celebrity appearances. The Charlotte Knights will be welcoming several familiar faces to Truist Field as part of their 2023 Celeb Series, including:

  • Former Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis (4/27)
  • Seinfeld actor Phil Morris (Jackie Chiles) on Show About Nothing Night (5/11)
  • Former Major League pitcher Goose Gossage (5/16)
  • The Office actor Leslie David Baker (Stanley Hudson) on Pretzel Night (5/19)
  • Former Atlanta Braves outfielder Andruw Jones (8/10)

I'm especially looking forward to Leslie David Baker's appearance for Pretzel Night on May 19th. Of course, the Charlotte Knights will be playing the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. To promote the event, the Knights enlisted their beloved mascot, Homer, to recreate Stanley's "Pretzel Day" monologue from The Office. Check it out:

Charlotte Knights Unveil New Look For 2023

I've lived in Charlotte long enough now to have seen three different official logos from the Charlotte Knights. That's not counting the special Caballeros and Pitmasters logos they trot out every now and then. According to MILB.com, the Charlotte Knights unveiled a new set of logos and uniforms on November 1st.

The latest look adds a healthy dose of blue to the Charlotte Knights uniform for 2023. The change comes ahead of the team's 30th year in the Triple-A International League and 10th season at its home of Truist Field in uptown Charlotte. The Knights have actually been around longer than that, debuting in 1976 in the Double-A Southern League.

This update marks the first time the White Sox affiliate has changed its look since 2014. The logo still features a knight's helmet, albeit a slightly different one, and it's set against either a blue "C" or home plate in the background. The new uniforms also incorporate what they're calling "Knights Blue."

You can see examples of the updated Charlotte Knights logo and uniforms below. Of course, the new merch is already available in the Team Store.
