Dunkin’ Is Blowing My Mind With This All-Day Breakfast Menu Item
Dunkin’ giveth and Dunkin’ taketh away. Hot on the heels of the disappointing news that Dunkin’ has taken the Dunkaccino off the menu after 23 years, we’re learning that the coffee-and-donut chain is upping its savory breakfast game.
The fast food breakfast wars have just heated up. Food & Wine reports that Dunkin’ has rolled out their new breakfast tacos nationwide. As much as I love Dunkin’, I’ve never thought of it as anywhere I’d go looking for a taco. But that just changed.
I first fell in love with breakfast tacos when I moved to Austin in 1997. In Texas, saintly people sell them in a variety of delicious styles from neighborhood restaurants and the backs of trucks. I would routinely scarf down a couple of egg-and-potato breakfast tacos in my car on the way to work. Unfortunately, I often showed up with “taco pants.”
Dunkin’s breakfast tacos are made with a flour tortilla, scrambled eggs, melted sharp white cheddar cheese, fire-roasted corn, and a drizzle of lime crema. Oh, and you can get yours topped with crumbled bacon, which I highly recommend. They even come with handy cardboard taco holders to help you avoid “taco pants.”
Dunkin’ is the last major player in the breakfast wars to offer a taco or burrito, but it was worth the wait. Their new breakfast tacos are priced at $2.59. You can add the bacon for another 40 cents. And bonus: they’re available all day!
They might be called breakfast tacos, but you can order them any time of day. https://t.co/AfiKnqLlHN
