Dog And Goat At North Carolina Animal Shelter Need ‘Together Home’
My wife and I have been thinking about adopting another dog so that our two-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix, Daisy, would have a full-time companion. Doggie daycare is great but sometimes days go by between visits and that’s when Daisy really misses her four-legged friends.
A North Carolina shelter is currently trying to find a forever home for a black-and-white dog named Felix. There’s one catch. Felix comes with a friend. His best friend. A goat named Cinnamon. The unlikely, but extremely bonded, pair of animals are currently being cared for at the Wake County Animal Center in Raleigh. They don’t just need a forever home; they need a “together home.”
The Wake County Animal Center shared that Felix and Cinnamon were brought to the shelter by City of Raleigh Animal Control on March 13th. Their previous owner was no longer able to care for them. Shelter director Jennifer Federico told WTVD-TV that the two animals are so attached to one another Cinnamon the goat will cry when they’re separated.
Wake County Animal Center says the pair is not up for public adoption at this time, but that could change if a rescue doesn’t happen by Friday, March 31st. Felix and Cinnamon are definitely cute together but I’m not even sure it’s legal to have a goat in my neighborhood.
UPDATE (4/2/23): According to Fox News, Felix and Cinnamon have been taken in Jacqui Bankes who has a farm with lots of other dogs and goats in Johnston County. It sounds like they’ll fit right in!
