According to Lifehacker, the home improvement chain is having a Mother’s Day flower giveaway, but to get in on it you’ll need to plan ahead.
Here are the details:
- You’ll have to sign up on the Lowe's events page. Registration opens on Sunday, April 30th.
- The freebie is a “one-pint flower,” and supplies are limited, so sign up as early as possible.
- The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Mother’s Day (5/14) and is supposed to include “fun activities and giveaways for all to enjoy.”
- You’ll even receive a $10 coupon for your next $75 Lowe’s purchase.
- At some point before then, Lowe’s is supposed to email everyone who registered with more information and instructions for pickup.
According to the Lowe’s events page, the flower giveaway is “a thank-you to the Moms and other special friends in our lives.” So even if you’re not a Mom, you can still score a free flower. Mother's Day is also a day to celebrate that you were brought up by a Mom. And don’t feel guilty that you’re trying to get a freebie for your Mom. She'll probably like the fact that you're being smart with your money.

To do this, the experts at Primrose analyzed Google search data for 1,085 plant and flower variations to determine favorite flowers and plants in each country, US state, and UK city. So which flower is number one in North Carolina? I'll give you a hint: the flower that topped North Carolina's list is also the most popular flower overall in the United States. It was searched in North Carolina 853,500 times. That's a lot!
The study analyzed Google searches across each US state to reveal that residents of North Carolina love their roses. In fact, the state has searched for roses over 853,500 times in the last year alone. As you'll see below, North Carolinians are in the majority with their love for roses.
Rose

Along with being North Carolina's favorite flower, the rose is by far the most popular in the country. Checkout the other states it also ranks at the top of.
Sunflower

The sunflower came up as the second most popular flower. But won a lot fewer states that the rose. States who preferred the sunflower are:
Forget Me Not

Alaska's favorite flower is the forget me not.
Frangipani

Hawaii has a completely different climate than the rest of the country so it makes sense they are unique in their favorite flower choice.
Peony

Vermont chose peony as its favorite flower.

Perhaps the most surprising choice on this list belongs to Washington and the cactus.
