The World’s Largest Cruise Ship Is Set To Sail In 2024 And It’s Massive

I’m planning on going on a rock cruise in March of 2024. It’s called the ‘Monster of Rock Cruise’ and a bunch of 80’s rock bands will be performing. I’ve been on this cruise years ago, although I didn’t see everything on the five day trip. There are so many bars and restaurants it’s hard to check all of them out. You could be on this new cruise ship for months and still not see all it has to offer.

Royal Caribbean has created a ship that’s nearly five times bigger than the Titanic. It is massive! According to CBS News, Icon of the Seas, is the world’s largest ship. It can carry 7600 passengers and over 2000 crew members. The ship will feature an ‘AquaDome’ on the front, which will offer 220-degree views and a 55-foot waterfall. There’s a five-deck open air ‘Central Park’ with living plant walls, and the largest waterpark at sea.

In addition, there six huge waterslides, seven pools, and the ship has 20 decks. There will be eight main areas of the ship:

  • The “AquaDome” on top of the front of the ship, which offers 220-degree views and a 55-foot waterfall.
  • The “Suite Neighborhood” with a Mediterranean restaurant and two-floor sundeck.
  • A five-deck-high open-air “Central Park” with living plant walls.
  • “Chill Island” with four pools and a swim-up bar.
  • “Thrill Island,” featuring what the company says is the largest waterpark at sea, called “Category 6.”
  • A dedicated family area called “Surfside.”
  • The “Royal Promenade” with ocean views.
  • “The Hideaway,” which has 180-degree views at the back of the ship and an infinity pool.

Looking at the pictures will blow your mind! With a ship this size, with so many amenities and amazing features, the price tag is high. The cheapest ticket for an interior room on a seven-night cruise from Miami to the Western Caribbean in September is $1,851. Honestly, that’s not too bad. The price goes up to $10,864 for the same cruise in March.

Most people are expressing excitement about the ship, however there are some folks that think it’s just way too much and there are way too many people. Looking at the website and watching some video of the ship, I’d go for sure! Of course, I’ll need to win the lottery first! Seeing the ship from an aerial view really shows you how enormous it is!
