Joe Jonas Files for Divorce from Sophie Turner

Joe Jonas has filed legal documents to end his marriage to Sophie Turner, gossip website TMZ reports Tuesday (September 5). Joe, 34, is asking for joint custody of their two daughters, 3-year-old Willa and their 1-year-old. The couple has kept details of their children private, with their latest daughter's name under wraps.

Sources tell the gossip site that Joe and the Game of Thrones alum, 27, have a prenup. As we previously reported, the couple has been having problems for around six months. Over the last week or so, the Jonas Brother has been looking for divorce lawyers this week. He is represented by Tiger Woods' divorce lawyer, Tom Sasser, who filed the divorce documents in Florida.

As for why Joe filed for divorce, a source says Turner "likes to party, he likes to stay at home. They have very different lifestyles." Apparently, Joe has been taking care of their children "pretty much all of the time" over the last three months, even as his band toured the US. When it comes time for the custody arrangement, Joe will likely ask for and be granted more than 50% physical custody. The last time Jonas posted a photo of his wife was back in March when the two attended the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party. He captioned the post using lyrics from Jonas Brothers' "Summer Baby": "Too much tequila now we’re dancing in the lobby." Meanwhile, Sophie's latest posted featured a carousel of photos from the Jonas Brothers' New York concert.

Joe and Sophie started dating in 2016 after Joe slid into her DMs. In a May 2019 interview with Harper's Bazaar UK, Turner reflected on the start of her and Jonas's relationship, revealing that they first started talking after he reached out on Instagram. "We had a lot of mutual friends. We were following each other on Instagram and he direct-messaged me one fine day, out of the blue." The pair got engaged the following year and tied the knot in a Vegas ceremony in 2019. It's the first marriage for both Joe and Sophie.
