Can You Really Make A Crispy Grilled Cheese Sandwich In The Microwave?
Have you ever re-heated pizza or a grilled cheese sandwich in your microwave? What happens? It comes out soggy and gummy. In a word, disappointing. It’s not at all crispy like it would have been in the oven. But you didn’t want to wait that long, did you? Well, the food scientists at Kraft Heinz may have come up with something to solve this first world problem.
According to Food Dive, Kraft Heinz is launching a new pouch to make great microwave food, including a grilled cheese sandwich. Their invention supposedly replicates products cooked in a conventional oven by adding crispiness. It’s called 360Crisp. The new technology “uses material with strategic venting and varied heat points to ensure proper cooking throughout the food.”
The new 360Crisp pouches are being implemented in five new products across four brands that will be rolled put by the end of 2024. The first product is Lunchables Crispy Grilled Cheesies. Imagine enjoying a classic grilled cheese sandwich with a crispy outside and gooey cheese inside straight out of the microwave in a minute.
Lunchables Crispy Grilled Cheesies will hit shelves this month in Original and Pepperoni Pizza flavors. They’re expected to retail at $4.99 per box. This could be a big hit with the after school crowd. Candy Hunting shared a photo on Instagram:
