This North Carolina Airport Ranks As One Of The Best In The World
Say what you will about flying in and out of Charlotte Douglas International Airport, it still ranks as one of the 10 best airports in the world. A recent study conducted by aviation industry website Cabin Crew HQ looked at things like flight delays, parking prices, and dining/shopping options. They found that Tokyo International (Haneda) Airport in Japan is the top airport in the world for 2023, scoring 80 out of 100. Charlotte Douglas International Airport scored 65.26, which is good for tenth place on the list.
Here’s what the report has to say about the Queen City’s primary hub for air travel: “Despite offering free parking and having a good on-time flight average of 79.3%, it has the lowest number of restaurants and shops among the top 10 airports.” Free parking!?! Do they mean the first 15 minutes that you get for free in the hourly parking deck? That’s not really much of a perk, but CLT does rank fourth in the world for cheapest parking, so that’s something.
As far as the stat on fewest flight delays is concerned, Charlotte Douglas International Airport ranks seventh worldwide. Not bad, seeing as how that’s the most important service they can offer travelers. And who doesn’t love the rocking chairs and live piano music in the main concourse? They just need more shops and restaurants. You can see the full report HERE.
