Most Popular Thanksgiving Dessert In North Carolina And South Carolina
After you’ve had your Thanksgiving turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole, it’s on to the next round. Whether you have room or not, dessert is coming to the table. But what will it be? Pie? Cake? Cookies? OnlineCasinos.com surveyed over 3,000 Americans to uncover their true feelings about Thanksgiving dessert.
According to the survey, an overwhelming 96.68% of respondents will indulge in dessert on Thanksgiving. That’s not surprising. Many of us seem to feel that it’s our duty as Americans to hurt ourselves through overeating. Maybe we do it to feel closer to the injured football players on TV.
Another key finding from the survey is that pumpkin pie holds the title of the favorite Thanksgiving dessert in 41 states, including North Carolina and South Carolina. Other states such as Mississippi and Louisiana, as well as the District of Columbia, lean towards pecan pie as their top choice. Tennessee can’t decide between the two so they just put both on the table. I can respect that.
Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, and New Hampshire opt for apple pie on Thanksgiving. Wyoming stands out as the only state to favor peach cobbler pie, which is not even considered to be a “superior tier” Thanksgiving dessert. It’s only ranked as “good,” along with blueberry pie and lemon meringue pie. Those are too summer-y for November. You can see the full report HERE.
