Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ Film to Hit Streaming with 3 Extra Songs
Taylor Swift never seems to run out of good news for her fans. She announced Monday morning that her Eras Tour film will be released for streaming on her birthday. That’s in just a few weeks on December 13. On top of that, Swifties will be blessed with songs from the tour that weren’t included in the movie’s theatrical release. Being cheeky on social media, Swift posted to X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, and Instagram. She said, “Well, so, basically I have a birthday coming up and I was thinking a fun way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!
The New Songs For The Extended Version
The extended versions will be available to rent on demand on the award-winning artist’s birthday. Apple TV, Vudu, Prime Video, Xfinity, Google Play and YouTube will have the film available for rent next month. The three extra songs featured on the upcoming version will be: 1989‘s “Wildest Dreams,” Lover‘s “The Archer” and Speak Now‘s “Long Live.”
The announcement came after Swift performed the final date of her tour for 2023 on Sunday night in Brazil. Per Variety, fans were eager for an announcement in hopes of getting a reveal that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) would be next on her re-recordings. They even chanted “Reputation” at the Brazil shows prior to Swift’s concert film announcement. The Eras Tour resumes on February 7 with a four-night stand at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.
So far, the artist has raked in the big bucks from her tour (which is estimated to gross a record-breaking $2 billion by the time it comes to a close next November). On top of that, the theatrical release of her concert film has grossed $178 million in the US as of this past weekend, setting a record for a concert film many times over. Finally, her latest re-recording release of 1989 achieved the best first-week numbers in her career, with an opening figure of 1.6 million album-equivalent units.
