Here’s Where You’ll Need To Be If You’re ‘Dreaming Of A White Christmas’ In 2023
Bing Crosby wasn’t the only one. Many of us dream of it. If you’re hoping you and your family can enjoy a white Christmas this year, you’re not likely going to get it in Charlotte. However, a new study reveals where you are most likely to see one.
According to USA Today, car rental company SIXT looked at data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to find where Bing’s dream might come true this year. The data was mined from records of historic weather patterns. In other words, this isn’t a forecast of where it’s going to snow, just a prediction based on previous years.
Once the data was analyzed, the research determined the ten U.S. locations with the greatest chance of seeing a white Christmas in 2023. As you might have already guessed, the cities with the highest chance of snow on December 25th are all in northern states. The city most likely to have a white Christmas is really northern: Fairbanks, Alaska. In fact, according to the study, Fairbanks has a 100% chance of having snow on the ground this Christmas Day.
Coming in second is Duluth, Minnesota with a 92.2% chance of a white Christmas. And in a close third, Bozeman, Montana has a 91.1 % possibility of seeing snow on December 25th. None of the top ten are in the Carolinas or, for that matter, anywhere below the Mason-Dixon Line. But, hey, it doesn’t hurt to dream. You can see the full list HERE.
