If You’re Looking For Cheap Flights Out Of Charlotte, This Airline Has You Covered
It happens every time we travel. As soon as my wife and I get back from a trip, we immediately start planning our next adventure. We just got back from Jamaica and we’re already looking at flights to Phoenix for vacation at the Grand Canyon in May. Travel is addictive. Of course, as with many other addictions, travel can cost a lot.
If you’ve been searching for cheaper flights out Charlotte Douglas International Airport, there’s some great news from Frontier Airlines. The low-cost carrier has announced in a media release that its adding seven direct flights from Charlotte this spring starting at just $19 roundtrip. The new destinations include one of my favorite spots in the Caribbean:
- Charlotte to New York LaGuardia (LGA) — April 10/$19
- Charlotte to Baltimore (BWI) — April 10/$19
- Charlotte to Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) — April 11/$19
- Charlotte to Chicago (ORD) — April 11/$19
- Charlotte to Houston Bush (IAH) — April 21/$19
- Charlotte to Buffalo (BUF) — May 17/$19
- Charlotte to San Juan (SJU) — June 1/$69
Frontier says the flights to New York and Baltimore will be daily, while the other U.S. flights will be three times a week. The non-stop flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico will be once daily. The Charlotte Ledger reports that with these new destinations, Frontier will surpass Southwest and Delta to become the #2 airline flying out of Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Only American Airlines has more destinations from the Queen City.
While Frontier’s rock bottom fares certainly look attractive, you have to keep in mind that it’s really just a starting price. The first time I flew with Frontier, I learned they charge extra for carry-on bags, checked baggage, and even selecting your seat. However, even after all that, you’ll still likely pay less for your trip than on some of the other airlines.
