Fast Food Fish Sandwich And Seafood Menu Items For Lent
The Lenten season is here. Lent is the six week period between Ash Wednesday and Easter. This period of time commemorates the 40 days Jesus Christ spent fasting in the desert and enduring temptation. Many Christians observe Lent by giving something up, such as meat.
If you follow the tradition of eating seafood on Fridays during Lent, or you just like a good fried fish sandwich, several fast food restaurant chains have what you need. I scoured the Internet to find some of the best fast food fish offerings and deals for you. Let’s start with a local favorite!
Fast Food Fish Sandwiches And Seafood For Lent
- Bojangles: For a limited time, the Charlotte-born chicken chain has brought its popular Bojangler Fish Sandwich, a crispy Alaskan Pollock filet dusted in Bo’s Famous Seasoning then topped with a slice of American cheese and creamy tartar sauce on a toasted bakery bun.
- Arby’s: Better known for having the meats, Arby’s is offering fried fish sandwiches as part of its 2 For $6 Mix ‘N Match deal. The Crispy Fish Sandwich comes with shredded lettuce and tartar sauce on a toasted sesame seed bun. The Fish ‘N Cheddar Sandwich also includes a cheddar cheese sauce. Arby’s King’s Hawaiian Fish Deluxe Sandwich has also returned to participating restaurants nationwide. This deluxe sandwich features a crispy fish fillet, cheddar, tartar sauce, tomato, and lettuce on a sweet King’s Hawaiian bun.
- Burger King: BK already had the popular Big Fish sandwich. Now they’ve created an all-new spicy version, the Fiery Big Fish sandwich, for a limited time. Through March 28th, Royal Perks members can get a second original or Fiery Big Fish for just $2 when they purchase one at full price online at BK.com or on the BK app.
- Church’s Texas Chicken: The re-branded has has added a fish sandwich to its menu. It’s a wild-caught Pacific Pollock fish filet on a toasted brioche bun with tartar sauce starting at just $3.99. You can also get a six-piece classic shrimp with a honey-butter biscuit starting at $3.99, or a family-sized 20-piece classic shrimp and hand-battered 6-piece tenders combo starting at $15.99.
- Long John Silver’s: If you love shrimp, you can choose from three $6 baskets. The six-piece grilled shrimp basket is served on a bed of savory rice with a side. Long John’s six-piece batter-dipped shrimp comes with a choice of one side and two hush-puppies. The crispy breaded popcorn shrimp is served with one side and two hush-puppies. All three are also available in a larger $10 shrimp sea-shares box containing 15 grilled or battered shrimp, or the popcorn shrimp.
- McDonald’s: Their simple yet iconic Filet-O-Fish sandwich has been a Lenten favorite for years. Many participating Mickey D’s locations offer discounts and BOGO deals during Lent.
- Popeyes: They’ve reeled in two Louisiana-seasoned seafood menu items for a limited time. Swing by a participating Popeyes for the Flounder Fish Sandwich (classic or spicy) and the 8-piece Shrimp Tackle Box.
- Wendy’s: The burger chain has rolled out its Crispy Panko Fish Sandwich for a limited time. It’s a buttery, flaky wild-caught Alaskan pollock filet coated in crispy panko breading with savory notes of garlic and onion. The sandwich is also topped with lettuce, a slice of American cheese, pickles, and creamy dill tartar sauce, all served on a premium bun.
