Man Eats Spaghetti With Scissors, But Why Stop There?
I don’t always understand why videos go viral but this one did. It’s thirty-four seconds of a man eating spaghetti with a fork and scissors. Instead of twirling the spaghetti on his fork, he snips the excess dangling pasta with the scissors.
This isn’t exactly groundbreaking. Upon seeing the video, Korean-American restaurateur David Chang tweeted, “Koreans did this first,” since scissors are commonly used in Korean dining. That got me thinking about other non-traditional eating utensils.
Seafood restaurants often provide small mallets for cracking crab and lobster shells. Why stop there? You could use a flat head screwdriver to open stubborn mussels and clams. Try a soldering iron to soften really cold butter or rock hard ice cream. And needle nose pliers are great for pulling pits out of olives!
