Pandemic. Dreary Winter. How About a Yacht Rock Weekend?
Could this weather be any more dreary? Pile that on top of a year long pandemic and it’s no wonder we’re all sad and depressed. Just giving you notice that K104.7 is putting together a “YACHT ROCK WEEKEND” to usher in Spring. Put it on your calendar for the weekend of March 19-21. Here’s a reminder: The weekend before is the beginning of daylight savings time.
Yacht Rock is a name given to that block of pop “soft rock” music that covers roughly 1975-84.

Definition. The term “yacht rock” did not exist contemporaneously with the music the term describes, from about 1975 to 1984. It refers to “adult-oriented rock” (or “West Coast Sound”) which became identified with yacht rock in 2005.
